VCU gets commitment from 6'9 big Lewis Djonkam

VCU  filled in another piece to the puzzle  today with the announcement of the  commitment of 2017 big man, Lewis Djonkam.

The Hargrave product was originally a Duquesne commit but  re-opened his recruitment with firing of Dukes head coach Jim Ferry this offseason.

A 6'9 240-pound post player, Djonkom averaged a 14.7-point, 10.4-rebound double double as a senior at West Springfield High before taking a post-grad year at Hargrave.

Djonkam joins a 2017 class that now consists of 6'7 265-pound rebound machine Marcus Santos-Silvia and versatile 6'9 point forward Sean Mobley. The Rams will hope to add a guard to that class soon and host 4-Star ?? Pittsburgh decommit Aaron Thompson this weekend.

The Rams have also added two stud transfers as well, getting combo guard Marcus Evans from Rice (19 ppg) and stretch 4 Khris Lane from Longwood (17 ppg). Evans will be forced to sit out the next season due to NCAA transfer rules while Lane will be immediately eligible as a graduate transfer.
