VCU to join Battle 4 Atlantis tournament in 2021

<a href=""></a>:

VCU will join the loaded 2021 Bad Boy Mowers Battle 4 Atlantis field Nov. 24-26 at the Atlantis Paradise Island Resort in the Bahamas.

The Rams will be playing for the third time in the event, one of the premier non-conference tournaments in the country. In addition to VCU, the 2021 Battle 4 Atlantis field will include Arizona State, Auburn, Baylor, UConn, Loyola Chicago, Michigan State and Syracuse. Six of the eight teams in the 2021 field earned an NCAA Tournament berth this season.

VCU is coming off a 19-7 campaign in which it reached the Atlantic 10 Conference Championship Game and earned a berth to the NCAA Tournament for the 18th time in school history and the 12th since 2004.

The Rams previously appeared in the Battle 4 Atlantis in 2012 and 2016. VCU is 3-3 all-time in the event. The 2020 Battle 4 Atlantis was relocated to Sioux Falls, S.D. this season due to the COVID-19 pandemic and rebranded as the Bad Boy Mowers Crossover Classic. VCU was a late addition to that field and earned wins over Utah State and Memphis in that event in November.
