They aren't calling it "Green City" for nothing.Particularly in the past decade, the county board of supervisors has shown a legit interest in adding GRTC routes to the county.
The willow lawn pulse stop is by far their busiest. I feel like more often than not, there's a solid group of people coming and going from there with plenty of bags of stuff purchased at Willow Lawn. I'd have to think they'd get bus service to this new development, particularly if they're playing up the whole "green" thing. Maybe they'll put a dispensary up there too.
I was talking to one of our infrastructure guys after the presser. I recently did a story on a new roundabout project on Woodman/Greenwood Roads. They are putting in a road and bike trails that will go to Virginia Center Commons which is also being renovated for mixed use and a smaller arena (it will have a bunch of courts for tournaments. Also, graduations, etc, etc). They plan to connect all the trails and this project will come into play. They plan to use all of the streams and wetlands for walking, parks, biking, etc. The trees and streams will remain and be enjoyed again. Depending on cost I might invest in a condo in Green City.Wow!! This could really work. The Navy Hill Developers have the cash to pull this off. Location is ideal and a friendly local government.
On a side note, one of the best kept secrets in Richmond was there was a beautiful 2 mile, wooded/ shaded cinder running/ biking trail behind the Best Products parking lot. I used to run mile repeats out there while trying to qualify for the olympic trials in 92 and 96.

don't the Patterson go to UR?Considering the scope of the project, I'd be shocked if there wasn't a major public-transit component to it. Kinda wish Richmond had committed to rail, but it is what it is.
They will provide GRTC service. Henrico recently gave them $ to expand service all the way out to the Goochland county line.don't the Patterson go to UR?

They will figure out road infrastructure and transit. Also, if you read the link I provided or watch the presser you will get some answers. They plan to utilize the Art Deco eagles and unique tiling on the building. Revitalization rather than demolition is their thinking.A new 17K arena would add congestion almost anywhere but this site seems as good as any and better than most from that perspective. The Parham rd exit for 95 would need to be beefed up unless they could add another 95 exit.
I hope they keep the eagles but I doubt the building is worth with the space it takes up.
The changed up the bus routes a couple years ago but the Westhampton 16 used to run from ur down Grove to the fan. I used to ride it home from school every day. Some sort of public transit, at least before during and after events would be a must. Uber there wouldn't be an issue but getting one afterwards would trigger surge pricing and you'd have to sell your first born.don't the Patterson go to UR?

I might invest in some rickshaws with a motor for hills. I will be giving rides but people need to dress warmly. I suggest layers.People in the suburbs have been using something other than a bus to get home from the bars downtown for years. I guess the shoe is now on the other foot. It's a two way street.
