Recruiting Silas Demary Jr.: Open for Business

now the piece of shït USC fans are in there bragging about how much NIL money they have
Of course. It's nigh impossible to compete with high-level P5 NIL $$$ (even though the second highest-valued player in NIL is actually a Northwestern State commit with millions of social media followers because he can play out of his mind despite being an amputee).

I blame the 7 page discussion on this thread extolling the virtues of LA
I read it as a discussion where some out-of-touch VCU fans were confused why an 18-year-old athlete would choose LA and a full ride to USC over the beautiful Richmond :D

Well if USC does also get the other top 10 pg we will see if they really play a 2 pg lineup. If so, might be calling it the million dollar backcourt.

His decision was not unexpected but still disappointing. 9 out of 10 players are going to chose the p5 school over a mid major. And now with NIL money it is more like 9.9 out of 10 will chose the P5. Scheduling and recruits are going to be more and more difficult moving forward. We may have to start really relying on left over seconds from the portal and just pray their inability to get playing time on a p5 time doesn't translate to not being a player and riding pine at VCU. Very frustrating.
We've literally struck out on every single one of our long term recruits this year. What is even more worrisome is that at the pg spot, Ace will be a senior next year with possibly no one in the wing to take over......although both Zeb and Nunn are possible pg replacements.
We need to start making noise in the tournament, no ifs, ands or buts. This year and next are two best bets. God please let Johns and Zeb show much, much more than they did at Michigan.

This post captures the very urgent situation well and why there’s a real worry among some in RN. This NIL stuff is going to absolutely bury some programs because there’s no regulations. It’s really harmful for programs like us that occasionally roped in some major recruits. It definitely feels like NIL just put 4-5 stars out of reach for mid majors now.

Yes, because before NIL 9/10 top recruits were picking mid majors over P5 schools we can never hope to compete. With those 10 to 20k deals. Our measly 10k to 20k deals are peanuts by comparison.

Supposedly, Ace was offered $150K to transfer over the summer. That is a long, long way from $10-$20K. Redo your math.
